Confide is built for compliance and legal environments, where the integrity of submitted data is critical. A report that was submitted with certain information must remain exactly as it was regardless of any configuration changes made after the fact.

Report Forms

When you edit a report form (i.e. adding, removing, or modifying fields ) those changes only apply to new reports going forward. Retroactive changes to Report Forms and the Case Data Sidebar will not overwrite reports that have already been submitted.

  • If you add a field, it will appear on all future submissions but will not be added to any existing reports.

  • If you remove a field, any data already captured against that field in existing reports is preserved. Nothing is deleted.

Case Data

Case data follows the same protective rule, with one difference:

  • If you remove a field, any data already entered in existing reports is kept.

  • If you add a field, it becomes available across all current and future reports, drawing from existing data or allowing you to backfill data where needed.

Entities

Entities follow the same principle as report forms. Adding a new field to an entity applies to new records going forward and does not alter existing ones.

Viewing Historical Reports

You do not need to do anything special to view a historical report. Simply open it and the data will appear exactly as it was captured at the time of submission.

If you ever need to recover a previous version of a report form (for example, to revert to an older design), please reach out to the Confide team and we will assist you with that.
