The Reporter Journey

S
Written by Sara Nothdurft

The Confide platform is designed around two distinct user roles: administrators and reporters. The reporter experience has been deliberately kept as simple as possible, allowing users to submit reports and interact with investigators with minimal friction. This module covers all features available on the reporter-facing side of the platform.

Navigating the Site

Depending on how an organisation has configured their Confide instance, reporters may be presented with a Program Homepage upon accessing their reporting link. Companies with multiple workflows will have a homepage displaying all available reporting options (e.g. Whistleblowing, Conflicts of Interest, Vendor Onboarding).

  1. Go to Confide Platform. Click the URL or scan the QR code provided by the company.

  2. Access Program Homepage. Click the Confide Platform logo at the upper left.

  3. Select Workflow. Scroll down to the table of available Workflows. click the Workflow related to your concern.

Language Selection

Reporters can change the application language prior to or during their reporting journey. Switching the language will update all interface text accordingly.

  1. Enter Workflow Homepage. Select a Workflow from the Program Workpage or take a direct link/ URL to the chosen Workflow.

  2. Change language. At the upper right corner, click the dropdown button and choose a language from the list.

Registration & Authentication

Submitting a Report

When a reporter submits a report, they are prompted to complete a registration step that determines how they will log back in to track their report's progress.

Authentication Options

For Reporters who wish to keep an eye on the progress of their report and ensure a smooth resolution, there are three available methods:

  1. Traditional Email and Password: The classic method, allowing users to register and log in using their email and a secure password. Passwords must be a minimum of (x) characters and contain lowercase, upper case, numbers and symbols.

  2. Private Key: For reporters who want the maximum security and anonymity, upon submitting a report they may avail of a Passkey. This Passkey must be guarded and well-kept as losing it will result in the Reporter losing access to their report.

  3. SSO: For those who prefer a single sign-on solution without need for additional passwords. To make use of the integrated Google OAuth, sign in with your company-affiliated gmail address.

Optional Email for Notifications (Private Key Users)

Reporters who register with a private key can optionally provide an email address to receive notifications. The email address remains confidential and is not shared with the customer.

Reporter Dashboard

Once logged in, reporters have access to a simple dashboard showing all reports associated with their account.

  • All submitted reports are listed under the reporter's account.

  • Reporters who have submitted multiple reports (across different workflows or report types) will see all of them listed in one place.

  • Draft reports saved but not yet submitted will appear here and can be completed and sent at any time.

Reporter Case Manager

Within a Report

Inside any individual report, reporters can perform the following actions:

Messaging

  • Reporters can read and respond to messages sent by case managers.

  • A pending unread message will appear as a notification on the report.

  • Reporters will also receive an in-platform notification when a new message arrives, provided notification settings are enabled.

  2. Select Report. Click the pertinent report on your list if you have multiple.

Adding Information

Reporters can add supplementary information to their report at any time after submission by using the designated input on the report page.

  1. Initiate Additional Information. Click "Add" on the right of the Inbox.

  2. Input Information. Either type in the text box titled 'Additional Information' or Upload a File from your device.

  3. Confirm Submission. Click 'Submit" on the lower right. This information or file will now be included in the report.

Downloading the Report

Reporters can download a copy of the report they submitted directly from the report view.
